The Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) will add another two super luxury buses to the existing fleet on the Southern Expressway between Kottawa and Galle from today, SLTB sources said. Accordingly, luxury buses will be available at Kottawa and Galle every 40 minutes.
Four super luxury buses belonging to SLTB are in operation on the Expressway and depending on passengers' demand, more buses will be deployed, the sources further said.
The drivers of these buses had been given a thorough training on how to drive on the highway as lack of training and experience would cost lives. "Drivers are fully competent and they went through an intensive training prior to selection", he said.
Meanwhile, the SLTB will operate a bus service from Colombo to Alpitiya through the Southern highway from January 20.
