Nilantha Kodittuwakku was guiding a special group of photographers earlier this month when he encountered more than 400 Spinner dolphins seven nautical miles off Mirissa.
Every now and then, there's a morning of flat calm seas and perfect visibility, and when two spinners cris-crossed in mid air, it almost as if it had been staged, the boat travelling at the correct angle catching the dolphins back lit almost in velvet like water with the reflection of the photographer mirrored on the water among them.
