Quoting the Health Minister Maithripala Sirisena the spokesman for the Ministry said yesterday that the amended act would be submitted to parliament to reduce the sugar content in confectionery and beverages.
The sugar content in soft drinks, liquid milk products and sweets will be reduced to 10 percent by the act.
