ඉන්ධන මිල වැඩිවූ බව කියමින් ඇතැම් ත්‍රිරෝද රියෑදුරන් හිතූ හිතූ ආකාරයට මිල ගණන් අය කිරීම පිළිබඳ තමාට නිතර දෙවේලේ පැමිණිලි ලැබෙන නිසා සියලුම ත්‍රිරෝද රථවලට මීටර් සවි කිරීම පිළිබඳව තමාගේ දැඩි අවධානය යොමු කර ඇති බව ප්‍රවාහන ඇමැති කුමාර වෙල්ගම මහතා "දිවයින"ට ඊයේ ප්‍රකාශ කළේය.

ලබන සතිය තුළදී මේ පිළිබඳව නිසි පියවරක්‌ ගන්නා අතර එම තීරණය ක්‍රියාත්මක වූ වහාම ත්‍රිරෝද රියෑදුරන්ට මීටර් සවි කිරීම සඳහා යම්කිසි කාලයක්‌ ලබාදෙන බවද ඇමැතිවරයා පැවසීය.

ත්‍රිරෝද රියකට ගොඩවීමට කලින් තමා බසින ස්‌ථානය සඳහන් කර එ සඳහා අය කරන ගාස්‌තුව පිළිබඳව රියෑදුන්ගෙන් විමසන ලෙස ද වෙල්ගම මහතා මහජනතාවගෙන් ඉල්ලා සිටියේය.

මේ අතර ත්‍රිරෝද රියෑදුරු මහත්වරුන් කීප දෙනකුම පවසා සිටියේ මෙතෙක්‌ තමන් අය කරන ගාස්‌තු ඉහළ දමා නොමැති බවයි.

Metres for all three-wheelers

The Transport Minister Kumara Welgama yesterday said that all three wheelers would be fixed with metres soon, as the commuters are charged at will by those operating three wheelers especially after the recent fuel price hike.

The minister said that the Ministry had received numerous complaints about such drivers and had to take this decision.

Earlier they charged Rs 50 for a kilometre and now they charged an additional Rs 15 or more for the same distance, he said.

The Minister advised the public to always inquire about the fare from the driver before embarking on a journey.
