ධීවරයන්ටත් විශ්‍රාම වැටුපක්

මෙරට ධීවර කාර්මිකයන් වෙනුවෙන් ‘දියවර දිරිය’ ධීවර විශ්‍රාම වැටුප් ක්‍රමය නමින් නව විශ්‍රාම වැටුප් ක්‍රමයක් හඳුන්වාදීමට ධීවර හා ජලජ සම්පත් සංවර්ධන අමාත්‍යංශය කටයුතු යොදා ඇත.
මේ පිළිබඳව වූ අවබෝධතා ගිවිසුම් අස්සන් කිරීම ඊයේ (24) ධීවර හා ජලජ සම්පත් සංවර්ධන ඇමැති වෛද්‍ය රාජිත සේනාරත්න සහ එම නියෝජ්‍ය ඇමැති සුසන්ත පුංචිනිලමේ මහත්වරුන්ගේ ප්‍රධානත්වයෙන් එම අමාත්‍යංශයේදී සිදුකෙරිණි. ලංකා බැංකුව සමඟ ධීවර අමාත්‍යංශයේ ධීවර දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව සහ ජලජීවී වගා සංවර්ධන අධිකාරිය එක්ව මේ දියවර දිරිය විශ්‍රාම වැටුප් ක්‍රමය හඳුන්වාදී ඇත. නව විශ්‍රාම වැටුප් ක්‍රමය යටතේ ධීවර කාර්මිකයකු අවුරුදු 55 පිරීමෙන් පසු රුපියල් 10,000ක උපරිමයක විශ්‍රාම වැටුපකට හිමිකම් කියනු ඇත.
අවුරුදු 18 සපිරි ධීවරයකු මේ විශ්‍රාම වැටුප් ක්‍රමයට දායකවීමේදී මාසිකව රුපියල් 300ක මුදලක් ගෙවිය යුතුවන අතර තමා ළඟ මුදල් ඇති අවස්ථාවලදී විශාල වාරික කිහිපයකින් මාසික වාරික ගෙවීමට හැකි වෙයි. ලංකා බැංකුව විසින් ගණනය කරන ලද මුදලක් යටතේ එකවර සම්පූර්ණ මුදලම ගෙවිය හැකි වෙයි.
ධීවර කාර්මිකයකුට දියවර දිරිය විශ්‍රාම වැටුප් ක්‍රමය පිළිබඳ තොරතුරු ඕනෑම ලංකා බැංකු ශාඛාවකින්, ධීවර හා ජලජ සම්පත් දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවේ ප්‍රධාන කාර්යාලයෙන් හෝ දිස්ත්‍රික් කාර්යාලවලින්, ශ්‍රී ලංකා ජාතික ජලජීවී වගා සංවර්ධන අධිකාරියේ ප්‍රධාන කාර්යාලයෙන් හෝ දිස්ත්‍රික් කාර්යාලවලින් ලබාගත හැකියි.
නව විශ්‍රාම වැටුප් යෝජනා ක්‍රමය පිළිබඳව අදහස් දැක්වූ ධීවර හා ජලජ සම්පත් සංවර්ධන ඇමැති වෛද්‍ය රාජිත සේනාරත්න මහතා මෙරටේ සමස්ත ධීවර ජනගහනය ලක්ෂ 7කට ආසන්න බවත් එයින්ද ක්‍රියාකාරී ධීවර කාර්මිකයන් සංඛ්‍යාව 1,66,000 ඉක්මවන බවත්, ඔවුන් වෙනුවෙන් මේ විශ්‍රාම වැටුප් ක්‍රමය ක්‍රියාත්මක වන බවත් කීය. මෙම අවස්ථාවේදී ධීවර හා ජලජ සම්පත් සංවර්ධන නියෝජ්‍ය ඇමැති සුසන්ත පුංචිනිලමේ, ලංකා බැංකුවේ පර්යේෂණ අංශයේ ආචාර්ය ලයනල් සිරිවර්ධන, ධීවර අධ්‍යක්‍ෂ ජනරාල් නිමල් හෙට්ටිආරච්චි මහත්වරුද කතා කළහ.
ධීවර අමාත්‍යංශ ලේකම් ආචාර්ය දමිතා ද සොයිසා, ධීවර අධ්‍යක්‍ෂ ජනරාල් ඉන්ද්‍රා රණසිංහ ජලජීවි වගා සංවර්ධන අධිකාරියේ සභාපති ජයන්ත චන්ද්‍රසෝම, අධ්‍යක්‍ෂ නිමල් චන්ද්‍රරත්න, ලංකා බැංකුවේ වැඩබලන සභාපති කේ. ධර්මසිරි, නියෝජ්‍ය සාමාන්‍යාධිකාරී සෑම් සමරසිංහ, නි. ඇමැති පෞද්ගලික ලේකම් ලසිතා පෙරේරා මහත්ම මහත්මීහු ඇතුළු ධීවර අමාත්‍යංශ සහ ලංකා බැංකුවේ නිලධාරීහු රැසක්ද මේ අවස්ථාවට සහභාගි වූහ.

Diyawara Diriya launched

An MoU on the Diyawara Diriya pension scheme was signed between Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Development Ministry, the National Aquaculture Development Authority (NAQDA) and Bank of Ceylon (BoC) yesterday, in the presence of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Development Minister Dr.Rajitha Senaratne.
Addressing the ceremony at the Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Development Ministry, Minister Senaratne said that the Diyawara Diriya pension scheme was introduced to uplift the living standard of the fisheries community. The fisheries sector plays a key role in both social and economic life.
Fish products are an important source of animal protein for the population and fish provide 72 percent of animal protein which is an essential nutrition source.
The fisheries sector contributes 18.35 percent to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
Fish and fisheries product export, such as, dried and canned fish was a valuable foreign exchange earner during the past years,the minister said.
"The Diyawara Diriya pension scheme had been introduced to the fisheries community several times. But it had not been successful.
This time, we hope to monitor this effort in a clear manner and all fishermen will benefit from this. Fishermen will receive Rs.10,000 pension when they are old under the Diyawara Diriya pension scheme," he said.
Fishermen have to pay only Rs.300 for a month and when they become 55 they will receive a pension monthly.
They will receive over Rs.2.1 million and more benefits from this, the minister said.
