Wilpattu land for politico’s supporters?
Subasinghe Bandara, Saliyaweva Corr.
According to wildlife officers, a road 20 feet in width is being constructed around the reservation of the Wilpattu National Park. It is believed that a powerful minister is going to give land to his supporters and at present these lands are being cleared by certain people. This proposed road covers a vast area including a large number of villages such as Hunuvilagama, Munasinghagama, Piburellegama, Katupathweva, Kabaragoyaweva, Ehetuwagama, Kukulkatuwa, Eemitikulama, Dunumadalaweva, Mahavilachchiya and Thantirimale.
After this road is constructed there will also be an electric fence, said the wildlife office.
