A bear in Yala found seriously ill

A bear was found seriously ill and semi conscious while another was found dead by wildlife officials who were patrolling the Yala National Park. They said the sick bear was suffering from pneumonia and that the other might have died of a similar ailment. A
Udawalawa Elephant Transit Home Veterinary Surgeon Dr. Tharaka Prasad treated the sick animal and said it was now out of danger. Meanwhile the ECO-TEAM, an NGO dedicated to protecting the wildlife, donated a cage for the sick bear on the request of Dr. Prasad. The bear is being fed with honey, milk, and meat.
Meanwhile wildlife conservation officials expressed concern about the shortage of funds to provide treatment to sick animals. ECO-TEAM Chief Environmentalist Dilan Peiries and Executive Director Ishan Kandana Arachchi are helping the officials to save the life of the bear.
