අද (28 දා) දින සිට දින 03 ක්‌ පුරා දිවයිනේ සියලුම ආහාර පරිහරණ ස්‌ථාන පරීක්‍ෂා කිරීමට හා ඒවා ශ්‍රේණිගත කිරීමට සෞඛ්‍ය අමාත්‍යාංශයේ ආහාර පාලන ඒකකය පියවර ගෙන තිබේ.
දැනට අප රටේ බොහෝ ප්‍රදේශවල තිබෙන ආහාර පරිහරණ මධ්‍යස්‌ථාන මහජන පරිභෝජනයට නුසුදුසු ආකාරයෙන් ආහාර අලෙවි කරන බවට හා සකස්‌ කරන බවට සෞඛ්‍ය අමාත්‍යාංශයට ලැබී තිබෙන පැමිණිලි සලකා බලමින් මෙම පියවර ගන්නා ලෙස සෞඛ්‍ය අමාත්‍ය මෛත්‍රිපාල සිරිසේන මහතා විසින් උපදෙස්‌ දෙනු ලැබීය.
ඒ යටතේ හෙට දින සිට එනම් 28, 29, 30 යන තෙදින තුළ මෙම පරීක්‍ෂා කිරීමේ හා ශ්‍රේණිගත කිරීමේ වැඩසටහන් ක්‍රියාත්මක කරන අතර මීට අදාළ චක්‍රලේඛයක්‌ මේ වන විට සියලුම පළාත් සෞඛ්‍ය සේවා අධ්‍යක්‍ෂවරුන්, දිස්‌ත්‍රික්‌ සෞඛ්‍ය සේවා අධ්‍යක්‍ෂවරු සහ මහනගර සභා ප්‍රධාන සෞඛ්‍ය වෛද්‍ය නිලධාරීන් වෙත යෑවීමට පියවර ගෙන ඇත. මෙසේ පරීක්‍ෂා කරන ආහාර පරිහරණ ස්‌ථාන A,B,C,D යනුවෙන් වර්ගීකරණය කෙරේ.
A සංකේතය යටතේ ගැනෙන ආහාර පරිහරණ ස්‌ථාන මහජන පරිභෝජනය සඳහා ආහාර සකස්‌ කරන හොඳම ස්‌ථාන වන අතර D යටතේ ගැනෙනුයේ ඉතාම නුසුදුසු ස්‌ථානයි.
පාරිභෝගිකයන්ට හොඳ හෝටලයකින් කෑමේ අවස්‌ථාව ලබාදීම මෙම වැඩපිළිවෙළේ අරමුණයි.

The Health Ministry will grade all the eateries as A, B, C and D according to their level of quality and a certificate will be issued to all of them stating their grade. This certificate should be displayed in the eatery for people to see, ministry spokesman W M D Wanninayake said.
Ministry will commence checks on all eateries in the country today, ministry spokesman W M D Wanninayake told the Daily News yesterday.
He said that Health Minister Maithripala Sirisena has instructed Food Control and Environmental Health Section of the ministry to check all eateries from five star to small eateries in Pettah and categorize them according to their hygienic standard.
The spokesman said that this decision was taken considering the large number of complaints received on unhygienic food served in food outlets.
He observed that some of these food items are unsuitable for human consumption.
He noted that the checks will continue for three days and circulars have already been sent to all provincial and district health directors and chief medical officers of urban and municipal councils to carry out these checks in their respective regions.
This programme is scheduled to commence in the afternoon today in Nawala.
