Sandasen Marasinghe, Irangika Range and Disna Mudalige
A special allocation of Rs. 130 million will be made to develop and renovate the road system near estates, Plantation Industries Minister Mahinda Samarasinghe said in Parliament yesterday.
He said that this work will be initiated next year by Provincial Councils on the direction of the Plantation Industries Ministry.
Minister Samarasinghe said that from the total allocation, Rs 50 million will be provided for plantation companies. The balance Rs 80 million will be given to the request extended through Estate Small Holders’ Association.
The minister was responding to a question raised by UNP MP Buddhika Pathirana.
