Grave sexual exploitation of children has amounted to 1089 in 2011 compared to 854 in 2010, according to Police media spokesman SSP, Ajith Rohana. The incidence of rape and human trafficking cases in Sri Lanka in 2011 was on high with 1152 incidents reported from January 1 to August 31.
