ඒ අනුව වංචනික ලෙස විදුලිය පරිහරණය කරන පුද්ගලයන්ගේ විදුලි සබඳතා යළිත් ලබාගත නොහැකි වන පරිදි විසන්ධි කිරීමට අවශ්‍ය නීති රෙගුලාසි ගෙන එන බව විදුලිබල හා බලශක්‌ති අමැති පාඨලී චම්පික රණවක මහතා සඳහන් කරයි.
ගිය වසරේ පසුගිය කාර්තුව තුළ සිදුකළ වැටලීම්වලින් වංචනික ලෙස විදුලිය පරිභෝජනය කළ පුද්ගලයන් විශාල සංඛ්‍යාවක්‌ නීතියේ රැහැනට හසුකර ගැනීමට හැකිවූ බවත්, ඒ අනුව තහවුරු වන්නේ වංචනික ලෙස විදුලිය භාවිතා කරන්නන් විශාල සංඛ්‍යාවක්‌ සිටින බවත් යෑයි ඇමැතිවරයා සඳහන් කළේය.
වංචනික ලෙස විදුලිය පරිභෝජනය හේතුවෙන් විශාල මුදලක්‌ විදුලිබල මණ්‌ඩලයට අහිමි වන බව පැවසූ ඇමැතිවරයා එය වළක්‌වා ගැනීමට නව නීති පනවන බව පැවැසීය.

CEB meter reader nabbed for power piracy

The Colombo Special Investigation Unit raided a Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) meter reader's house and produced him before court for pirating electricity. The man was fined Rs 10,000 and also ordered to pay Rs 111,730.80 to the CEB by Horana magistrate Mahinda Ranasinghe.
Inquiries revealed that the suspect's father-in law is also working at the CEB office in Horana. Both live in the same house where electricity was pirated, the Police said.
The suspect is a resident of Dombagoda, Horana.
Investigation officer P.D. Ajith and a special team had carried out the raid with the assistance of Horana Police.
Meanwhile, Horana acting magistrate Manel Gunathilaka ordered to release a suspect on a Rs 50, 000 personal bond, when he was produced before court after his wife complained about him regarding domestic violence.
His wife told court that their child is a student and the suspect had torn the child's school books.
The woman also told court that he had assaulted her at her work place.
The acting magistrate warned him before releasing him on Rs 50,000 personal bond.
Investigations are continuing.
