වී මිලදී ගැනීම් ප්‍රමාද කර ඒවා පෞද්ගලික ව්‍යාපාරිකයන්ට මිලදී ගැනීමට අවස්ථාව සලසා දීමේ කූඨ ජාවාරමක යෙදෙන වී අලෙවි මණ්ඩලයේ නිලධාරීන් කණ්ඩායමක් පිළිබඳ තොරතුරු සමුපකාර හා අභ්‍යන්තර වෙළෙඳ කටයුතු පිළිබඳ අමාත්‍යාංශයට ලැබී තිබේ.

ඒ අතර වී මිලදී ගැනීම් ප්‍රමාද කර ගොවීන් අපහසුතාවට පත් කිරීමට උත්සාහ කිරීමත් වැරැදි තොරතුරු අමාත්‍යාංශයට ලබා දීමත් මේ කණ්ඩායම සිදු කර ඇති බවට තොරතුරු ලැබී තිබේ. මේ පිරිස කවුදැයි හඳුනාගෙන වහාම ඔවුන් පිළිබඳ වාර්තාවක් ලබාදෙන ලෙස ඇමැති ජොන්ස්ටන් ප්‍රනාන්දු මහතා අමාත්‍යාංශ ලේකම් සුනිල් එස්. සිරිසේන මහතාට නියෝග කර තිබේ.

අම්පාර දිස්ත්‍රික්කයේ වී මිලදී ගැනීම සඳහා ලොරි රථ හිඟ බවට ද ව්‍යාපාර තොරතුරු ලබා දී ඇත. ඇතැම් වී ගබඩා වසා දමා ඇති බවට ද තොරතුරු ලැබී තිබේ. අවශ්‍ය තරම් ගබඩා පහසුකම් ලොරි රථ ලබා දී තිබියදී එම කඩාකප්පල්කාරී වැඩ සිදු කරන්නේ කවුද යන්න ද සොයා බැලීමට කටයුතු කෙරෙයි.

Johnny wants some PMB officials probed

Minister of Cooperatives and Internal Trade Johnston Fernando has directed Ministry Secretary Sunil S. Sirisena to conduct an immediate inquiry against certain officers of the Paddy Marketing Board, who provided false information to the ministry and for delaying the purchase of paddy thereby inconveniencing the farmers.

He told The Island that he issued the directive to Sirisena yesterday (28) and ordered that a report be submitted immediately.

Minister Fernando also instructed the Sirisena to send the required number of lorries to the Ampara district warehouses for the purchase of paddy as he had been informed about the insufficient number of lorries there.

He also instructed PMB Chairman K. B. Jayasinghe and his officers not to inconvenience farmers when purchasing paddy.
