Feeling warm? Blame it on humidity

Ridma Dissanayake

The Meteorology Depart ment yesterday said that the warm temperature experienced these days was due to low winds and the low humidity in the atmosphere.

Meteorology Department officials said there is no rise in the normal temperature but the direct fall of the sun’s rays had caused extreme warm conditions.

Colombo recorded a temperature of 30.0 celsius while high temperatures were reported from Anuradhapura, Vavuniya and Ratnapura districts. Mannar also reported high temperature on certain days.

Low temperature was reported from Nuwara-Eliya district. A Department spokesman said the temperature will return to normal by next month.
