The National Zoological Gardens in Dehiwala reported its highest income last Saturday, Director General Bashwara Senanka Gunaratne told the Daily News yesterday.
According to him, they earned Rs 1.7 million from the 17,000 visitors. "Most visitors were locals," he said. Gunaratne said even on Sunday, a large number visited the zoo and it was difficult to issue tickets to them.
