By Subasinghe Bandara
The government has declared Thabbowa forest reserve as a National Park. Addressing a public gathering at the inauguration of the reconstruction of Konwewa, Karuwalagaswewa, on Sept. 16, Wildlife and Agrarian Services Minister S. M. Chandrasena said that this would be a big boost for development of tourism in the region. MP Chandrasena said that those visiting the Kalpitiya tourism zone would be able to visit the new wildlife park. The minister said that two entry points to the park would be set up, at Karuwalagaswewa and at the 17th mile post.
The MP said that the action was being taken to prepare the infrastructure to welcome tourists to the new park.
