Elephants raid Minipe farmer colonies

Wild Elephants are invading the Minipe farmers' colony over the past few days, revealed a report from the Uda Dumbara electorate, in the Kandy district. According to the report compiled on October 3, peasants of Kolongoda, Meegolla, Palugolla, Vileyaaya and Vevare off the Hasalaka-Hettipola Vilgamuwa road, which goes across a part of the Minipe colony have made complaints to local authorities about wild elephants roaming in their villages, damaging or destructing crop fields there.
