Wild animal menace

P P G Sugathadasa Thihagoda group correspondent

Wild animal menace in Tangalle and surrounding areas has adversely affected farmers residents and their cultivations.

According to residents monkeys, giant squirrels and wild boar treats are on the increase.

These animals feed on coconuts, jak, cashew, fruit and vegetables. Some wild animals have bitten people as well.

This matter has been brought to the notice of Wildlife authorities too. They are of the opinion that residents of these areas are used to litter and discard waste matter in their home gardens and the wild animals feed on them.
