The 300MW coal power plant in Norachcholai stopped generating power on Thursday following a technical problem.
A spokesman said that though the problem is quite serious, problems of this nature are common in a new plant.
An official of the Ceylon Electricity Board said on Thursday they will resume the power generation activities of the Norochcholai, once when they get the green light.
Power generation activities of the plant were temporarily suspended on Wednesday night due to overload. However, the present one is a technical problem, an official said.(IN)
