The Traditional Industries and Small Enterprise Development Ministry has commenced a national programme to develop palmyra production in Sri Lanka.
Palmyra production is one of the less developed industries at rural level. The ministry is to hold training and awareness programmes on palmyra production with the aim of increasing the production and make a good contribution to the national income. They are to provide employment for youths through developing the palmyra related industries as well.
