Three monks in a temple in Dediyagala Akuressa had been attacked by wasps and admitted to the Akuressa hospital in a serious condition.
The incident had occurred on March 10th at about 3.30 p.m. near a plantain grove behind the temple.
Since the condition of one monk was serious he was transferred to the Matara general hospital.
According to hospital sources the monk was in an unconscious state on admission.
